High Performance glazing matched with spectacular views
On arrival at this magnificent house a courtyard builds anticipation of what lies beyond with only the entry door to the home an indicator of what lies beyond.
Positioned at the end of a winding driveway, the pavilion design of the Peninsula House is an interpretation of the Australian rural vernacular of outbuildings prevalent in the farming district. Capturing views of Bass Strait across to Phillip Island, the position of the building was determined via a reading of wind analysis data and sculpting of the natural agricultural contours of the site.
A steel blade-like roof floats over the off form concrete walls of the linear plan arrangement, enabling uninterrupted views of the coastline through high performance windows and doors.
The east elevation comprises a continuous wall of aluminium sliding windows using insulated glass units mounted in streamlined aluminium frames that are framelessly transparent from the ceiling to the floor thanks to the track system that is fully concealed in the floor.
